The fascinating history of a family business and the unforgettable taste of ice cream – Grycan Ice Cream for generations. The history of our ice cream began in the old, pre-war times, when my family was still living in Buczacz in the Eastern Borderlands. There, grandfather Grzegorz Grycan, together with my father Józef, produced and... read more sold their first ice cream. In 1946, the whole family settled in Wrocław as part of repatriation. In the city, which was recovering from the devastation of war, Józef and Weronika Grycan, my parents, lived in a tenement house at Plac Grunwaldzki. Here was our first ice cream parlor in post-war Poland. On her sign there was an inscription: Lody MIŚ – Weronika Grycan. I remember those ice cream … cocoa, vanilla, coffee, strawberry, summer, lemon and strawberry.
